Tree pose, Vrksasana is one of my favourite asanas. While holding the pose I always close my eyes to reestablish my inner peace and to practice my submission to the Source.

Remember that themind wants to control in every moment of your life and we need to develop a daily practice to go beyond mind processing.

When I am in tree pose I literally become a tree rooting down through my root chakra to Mother Earth and as I open my arms in the air it feels like inviting divine guidance into my life through my crown chakra hugging the universe as I am reaching out to brahman. Tree pose is about connecting the material and the spiritual dimensions so the light of the soul (atman) can shine through all the five koshas (layers of illusion). Purification is the process of realignment to my heart chakra, which opens the pathway towards the divine chakras of the third eye and the crown.

Tree pose brings me back to my center of consciousness consequently my inner peace and submission to the Source is firmly established. Being a tree is a great reminder that rooting down in this material world is essential but not the aim rather a tool to reach out towards divine consciousness.

Baha’u’llah says “O Son of Being! If thine heart be set upon this eternal, imperishable dominion, and this ancient, everlasting life, forsake this mortal and fleeting sovereignty.” Practicing tree pose is a testimony of balancing between those two dimensions of life which is the playground of my soul to progress towards the heights of eternity and perfection. Namaste.
